Description
The Florida Scrub-Jay is a wonderful little bird if you happen to encounter them! This is a threatened species that we Floridians care deeply about. This should be our state bird, instead of the current Mockingbird, as this species is only found in Florida.
This bird picked up an acorn that could have been "stashed" away for a later snack. With a couple of swift, hammer-like pecks, the fruit is accessible.

Cool capture

Thanks! I read that the birds will bury the acorns all over the place for later use. I think that was the case here as I didn't see an oak tree in the immediate area!
